Hi. I'm a User Experience Architect with over 8 years experience architecting, developing, and managing websites and web applications.

About Me—A Quick History

1976Born.
1996Learned HTML 2 from the NCSA HTML beginner's guide. Made ridiculous websites for friends.
1998Graduated from college with a History degree. Started work as an editorial assistant for an engineering book publisher, and quickly become an editor. Helped drive push for online manuscript submissions system.
2001Became a computer trainer for the Gates Foundation. Taught classes in web design, web development, and blogging. Taught myself CSS at night. Made websites for small business clients. Did "information architecture," but was not aware of that term.
2004Took web development contract at Microsoft Live Meeting Services. Mostly did work for Microsoft B2B clients—AT&T, Wendy's, and Veritas (now Symantec), among them.
2004Worked for NPower Oregon managing technology & web consulting practice.
2005Went to graduate school to study information management.
2006Took job at Microsoft doing information architecture for the Market Research group.
2007Finished Master's and started at Ascentium, where I still am today!
2009Won election as secetary of ASIS&T, Pacific Northwest chapter.
