About Me—A Quick History
| 1976 | Born. |
| 1996 | Learned HTML 2 from the NCSA HTML beginner's guide. Made ridiculous websites for friends. |
| 1998 | Graduated from college with a History degree. Started work as an editorial assistant for an engineering book publisher, and quickly become an editor. Helped drive push for online manuscript submissions system. |
| 2001 | Became a computer trainer for the Gates Foundation. Taught classes in web design, web development, and blogging. Taught myself CSS at night. Made websites for small business clients. Did "information architecture," but was not aware of that term. |
| 2004 | Took web development contract at Microsoft Live Meeting Services. Mostly did work for Microsoft B2B clients—AT&T, Wendy's, and Veritas (now Symantec), among them. |
| 2004 | Worked for NPower Oregon managing technology & web consulting practice. |
| 2005 | Went to graduate school to study information management. |
| 2006 | Took job at Microsoft doing information architecture for the Market Research group. |
| 2007 | Finished Master's and started at Ascentium, where I still am today! |
| 2009 | Won election as secetary of ASIS&T, Pacific Northwest chapter. |
